Pimentel Water

10 - Step PimentelTM Water Filtering Process

Stage 1

PimentelTM Water begins by running through an Automatic Twin Alternating Water Softener. This is used as a pre-treatment to remove the hardness in minerals, iron, manganese, and other trace metals from the water.

Stage 2
It continues on to an Automatic Granular Activated Carbon Filter. This filter is used to remove chlorine, organic compounds, THM's (chloroform and other carcinogenic byproducts), pesticides, herbicides, and other chemical contaminates commonly found in many water supplies today.

Stage 3
On the third station, the water is run thru a One Micron Rated Pre-Filter, which is used as one of the final pre-treatment stages prior to the Reverse Osmosis Process. This filter will remove any fine particulate matter in the water.

Stage 4
Our water then enters an Ultraviolet Disinfection System, which is used as another pre-treatment filtering process. Even though municipal water is chlorinated, there have been past cases where there has been microbiological contamination in the water. The feed water Ultraviolet Disinfection Unit will kill microorganisms that may be present in the filtered municipal water.

     Stage 5
At this stage, the water is delivered to the Reverse
Osmosis System, which will remove over 99% of any
remaining mineral and chemical contaminants from the
municipal water. Our water is now classified as
purified water but will still undergo the exclusive
secondary filtration and disinfection process. The now
purified water is stored in a FDA Approved
Polyethylene Storage Tank. This tank contains a sub-
micron air vent which is used to keep airborne
     contaminates from entering.

Stage 6

From the storage tank, the water proceeds through a Carbon Block GAC (Granulator Activated Carbon) Post Filter. This filter will provide the primary filtration of the purified water prior to disinfection and bottling.

Stage 7

Once again, the water is sent through a second Ultraviolet Disinfection System, the primary disinfection process. The purified water will pass through the UV where a 254-wavelength nanometer (one of the wavelengths of natural sunlight), is emitted through the water. This wavelength is highly concentrated and will provide up to 99% destruction of any remaining microorganisms in the water.

Stage 8
At this stage, water passes thru a .2 Sub-Micron Post Filter, filtering five times finer than the One-Micron Filter in Stage 4, this process will provide the final filtration step to assure optimum clarity and purity of the water prior to bottling.

Stage 9
The final step is through the Ozone Disinfection System, which provides secondary disinfection of the water. Ozone (O3) is simply another form of oxygen and is used for final disinfection of the water prior to bottling. A small amount of ozone remains in the bottled water product for a short period of time, which will not only help disinfect the water, but also the bottle in which it is placed. Within several hours the ozone (O3) will revert back to oxygen (O2) causing no taste or odor problems unlike water containing chlorine. The ozonation process actually increases the dissolved oxygen level in the water, enhancing the flavor and healthful nature of our water.

Stage 10
Finally, our super purified water is bottled in a sanitary clean room that excludes airborne contaminates. All equipment is sanitized daily prior to every production run, and all of our bottles are carefully cleaned and sanitized prior to filling.
